With a grand view overlooking the Tennessee River as it flows past the University of Tennessee, the Tickle College of Engineering's brand new Engineering Services Facility boasts not just latest in engineering research technology and equipment, but over 5,000 square feet of extensive green roof distributed across several of its upper levels. While the green roof's dense Sedum plant community provides pollinator habitat, evapotranspiratory services, and visible greenery to the building's top floors, the system as a whole contributes to the structure's overall stormwater management and energy efficiency standards.
